With a worldwide reputation for its innovative offshore solutions, our client supplies the offshore oil and gas and commercial industries with lifting equipment. As an Electrical Technician you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment. The role requires expertise in industrial electrical systems, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

The position will be primarily workshop based with the requirements to travel to worldwide locations for ad hoc onshore & offshore assignments relating to installation & servicing of the lifting equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Read & interpret Electrical engineering drawings
• Install, assemble and commission all electrical activities within the manufacturing process
• Test, fault-find and problem solve electrical processes
• Comply with the company’s health and safety policy and procedures at all times and follow safe working practices
• Comply with company’s quality system and procedures at all times
• Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills as and when requested by the company

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• C&G / NVQ in Electrical Engineering and / or Degree (HND / Foundation etc.)
• Offshore experience / willingness to work offshore/worldwide when needed (c60days per year)
• Work well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills 
• Be physically fit and able
• Enjoy working as part of a team and able to take instructions
• Be flexible and adaptable in workload, be willing to put in overtime hours when required 
• Good personal H&S awareness
• Able to maintain high standards of work, and willing to continuously comply with company’s quality systems in place
• Ability to be able to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings
• Willing and able to keep skills relevant and up to date by attending / training in new electrical standards and processes
• 5 Years’ experience working within Engineering /Manufacturing Sector

DESIREABLE SKILLS:

• COMPEX certification
• Servicing, maintenance and testing of certified hazardous area (Ex) equipment
• Construction, Layout, wiring and installation of of electrical control panels and PLCs
• Proven experience with project work
