Hours:  37.5 hrs Mon – Fri 8:30m – 16:30pm / 30mins lunch

As Warehouse Assistant with our client your job role will encompass; Receipt, Issuance, Locate, Pick, and despatch all commodities within the warehouse function, ensuring that all transactions are executed through our Warehouse Management System. During the execution of this role there will be a requirement to use mechanical handling equipment and hand tools also following process and procedures with an emphasis on continual improvement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Packing all 3rd party and intercompany shipments being distributed from the facility.
  • Assist with general warehouse tasks as requested in other sections within the warehouse.
  • Physically checking, counting, and packing materials
  • Operates various storage and transport equipment, i.e., Overhead crane
  • Safe loading and unloading of trucks for shipments that arrive/depart the facility • Responsible for complying with all company HS&E (Health & Safety) and warehouse procedural requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
  • Participate in our clients Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace
  • Participate in on-call rota as required
  • Responsible for carrying out a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required and in line with operational requirements
  • To support the Warehouse Manager or supervisors in performing other duties as and when required

Qualifications

Essential

  • Standard Grade Level of Secondary Education or equivalent Desirable
  • Technical qualification related to the job role
  • Basic IT skills with word/excel

  • Use of ERP Systems
  • Previous experience within a warehouse environment

Skills, training, or special knowledge

Essential

  • Computer literacy including basic knowledge of Microsoft/ application.
  • Good communication skills Desirable
  • Practical training on all essential workshop lifting equipment incl. Overhead Crane and Forklift trucks (training will be provided if required)

Quality Assurance

  • Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Management System procedures and department/local work instructions.
  • Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.

Training

  • Participate in training where required and actively participate in DH Competency System.

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training, and instruction. • To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
