Balance Sheet Accountant

Pay Rate: £23.08–£28.20 p/hr DOE
Location: Inverurie, Aberdeen
Duration: 6 months with potential extension

Additional Details

  • System: Glovia
  • Flexible start times
  • Hybrid working after training: 3 days office / 2 days WFH
  • Hours:  37.5 Mon–Thu 8:30–17:00, Fri 8:30–15:45 (45-minute lunch)

 

This role focuses on owning the accuracy and integrity of all balance sheet accounts. You’ll review reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, resolve variances, and ensure every balance is properly supported and compliant with internal standards. It’s a position for someone who’s meticulous, analytical, and confident working through complex financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review all balance sheet accounts to ensure alignment with internal policies and accounting standards.
  • Investigate and clear reconciling items, discrepancies, and unexplained variances.
  • Maintain thorough reconciliation schedules with complete supporting documentation.
  • Prepare journal entries and adjustments to uphold accurate general ledger balances.
  • Assess the current reconciliation processes and update them where improvements are needed.
