Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, compassionate care and support to individuals in their homes and in care home settings, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility, in line with individual care plans.

  • Support service users with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, feeding, medication administration (where trained), and household tasks.

  • Encourage and support independence, social engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Observe and report changes in service users’ physical or mental health to the supervisor.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with company and regulatory standards.

  • Comply with all Health & Safety, safeguarding, and infection control policies.

  • Provide companionship and emotional support, building positive relationships with service users.

  • Work flexible hours across multiple locations as required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately.

  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to varying work environments.

  • Awareness of Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous care experience preferred but not essential; training will be provided if required.

  • Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care) advantageous.

  • Full enhanced DBS check required prior to starting.

  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle may be advantageous for community roles.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, assisting with mobility, and supporting service users with personal care.

  • Comfortable working across multiple environments, including private homes and care homes.


Other Information

  • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

  • Full enhanced DBS check required and must be maintained.
