Minibus Driver

FULL TIME

job description

18–30 hours per week, Monday to Friday during school terms. Some work outside school terms and occasional weekends may be required.

Job Purpose

To safely transport passengers, primarily school children, in a mini bus, ensuring timely, reliable, and professional service while maintaining high safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a mini bus on designated routes according to schedule.

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers at all times.

  • Conduct pre-journey and post-journey vehicle checks.

  • Maintain accurate records, including mileage logs, passenger counts, and any incidents.

  • Report any vehicle defects, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly.

  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers as required.

  • Comply with all road traffic laws, company policies, and Health & Safety regulations.


Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent driving skills and awareness of road safety regulations.

  • Professional and courteous attitude toward passengers.

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.

  • Ability to follow instructions and operate independently.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Full D or D1 licence (essential).

  • Clean driving licence.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience.

  • Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.

  • Previous experience driving a mini bus or passenger vehicle preferred.

    • PPE (where applicable) and company policies must be followed.

    • Steady, term-time hours with the potential for permanent employment.

    • Flexibility to work outside school terms and occasional weekends as required.
