About the Role

We are currently recruiting for reliable and hardworking Production Operatives to join a busy commercial laundry operation based in Great Yarmouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible temporary or ad hoc work within a fast-paced production environment. As part of the laundry team, you will play an important role in ensuring linen and garments are processed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards for customers.

The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work, can adapt quickly to changing workloads, and take pride in delivering excellent standards. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for those looking to gain experience within a busy industrial production environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Operative, your duties will include:

  • Sorting incoming laundry items accurately and efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading industrial laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, and finishing machinery.
  • Operating laundry production equipment safely and following company procedures.
  • Folding, packing, and preparing clean linen and garments ready for dispatch.
  • Inspecting items for quality, damage, stains, or any issues requiring attention.
  • Ensuring products meet required cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Moving laundry items and materials safely around the production area.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Following all Health & Safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
  • Working as part of a team to achieve daily production targets.
  • Supporting different areas of the laundry operation as required.
  • Reporting any equipment issues or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable production duties as required.

Available Shift Patterns

A variety of flexible shifts are available, including:

  • 06:00 – 13:00
  • 08:00 – 13:00
  • 08:00 – 16:30
  • 13:00 – 21:30
  • 14:00 – 22:00
  • 16:30 – 21:30
  • 21:30 – 06:00

Flexible availability is welcomed, and shifts may vary depending on business requirements.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be reliable, motivated, and comfortable working in a busy production environment.

You will have:

  • Previous experience within a production, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain quality standards.
  • The ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
  • Good reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to carry out physical duties, including standing for long periods, lifting, and moving items.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work safely within company procedures.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
