Job Specification – Project Manager
40 hours per week.

Job Purpose

 
The Project Manager is responsible for the management, coordination, and successful
delivery of operational services to meet project objectives and client requirements. The
role oversees projects from quotation and planning through to execution, completion,
and close-out, ensuring that resources, budgets, quality standards, and customer
expectations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Client and Stakeholder Management

 
• Act as the primary point of contact for client operations and maintain excellent
customer relationships.
• Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to
ensure efficient project delivery.
• Conduct client visits within the UK and overseas as required.
• Lead project kick-off, progress, and close-out meetings.
Project Planning and Delivery
• Prepare and issue quotations and maintain the quotation register.
• Generate work scopes from quotations and purchase orders, including Bills of
Materials (BOMs) and execution strategies.
• Ensure projects are appropriately resourced with personnel, materials,
equipment, and subcontractor support where required.
• Monitor procurement activities to support project execution and delivery
schedules.
• Manage day-to-day project activities to ensure projects are completed safely,
efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Resource and Personnel Management
• Coordinate and manage project site personnel.
• Monitor labour allocation, timesheets, rope access hours, and productivity.
• Ensure accurate recording and reporting of project progress and field data.
Financial and Commercial Management
• Maintain awareness of project budgets and costs.
• Raise and submit Variation Order Requests (VORs) when project scope changes
occur.
• Support project invoicing through the accurate collection of project data and
documentation.
• Ensure project costs are controlled and reported appropriately.
Documentation and Compliance
• Maintain sufficient knowledge of project work packs and associated technical
documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and quality
standards.
• Follow project close-out protocols and ensure all documentation is completed
accurately.
• Fully comply with the company Quality Management System (QMS).

Person Specification

 
Essential Qualifications

 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and
SharePoint.
• Knowledge and experience of Sage software.
Essential Experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operational or project management
environment.
• Experience coordinating resources, materials, and personnel within a project
based setting.
• Experience working directly with clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
