Warehouse Operative (Picker/Packer)

As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently. Duties include:

  • Picking customer orders accurately while meeting daily picking targets.
  • Packing orders to company standards, ensuring products are packaged securely and correctly.
  • Preparing customer orders for dispatch, including bagging, labelling, and loading ready for collection.
  • Receiving, unloading, and checking deliveries, including container unloading.
  • Replenishing stock locations to maintain efficient picking operations.
  • Assisting with stock control, stock takes, and inventory checks.
  • Moving, organising, and storing goods safely within the warehouse.

  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Reporting damaged stock, shortages, or any warehouse issues to supervisors.
  • Supporting other warehouse operations and assisting colleagues wherever required to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck into all aspects of warehouse work.

You will need to work quickly and accurately to achieve productivity targets while maintaining excellent attention to detail. As we stock thousands of different products, you should be a fast learner with a good memory and the ability to identify products efficiently, ensuring orders are dispatched correctly and on time.

This is a physically demanding role, requiring you to be on your feet for most of the day, with regular lifting, moving, and handling of boxes and stock. A good level of physical fitness and a strong work ethic are essential.

You should be able to work well both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility to support different areas of the warehouse as business needs require.

The successful candidate will also be willing to work overtime when required, sometimes at short notice, particularly during busy periods or when containers and large deliveries arrive.
