Job Purpose

To safely operate a counterbalance forklift to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse or production environment, ensuring efficient handling of goods and compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to move, stack, and organize goods within the warehouse.

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles accurately and safely.

  • Transport materials to designated locations within the warehouse or production area.

  • Conduct daily safety checks and routine maintenance on the forklift.

  • Ensure all stock is handled carefully to prevent damage.

  • Assist with stock control, including checking, labeling, and recording stock movements.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following company Health & Safety policies.

  • Report any equipment faults, safety hazards, or incidents to the supervisor immediately.

  • Support warehouse colleagues with general duties as required.


Skills & Competencies

  • Counterbalance forklift license is essential.

  • Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse, logistics, or production environment.

  • Good understanding of warehouse operations and stock handling procedures.

  • Strong focus on Health & Safety and ability to follow procedures.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid counterbalance forklift license (mandatory).

  • Previous forklift operating experience preferred.

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.

  • Capable of handling heavy materials and performing physically demanding tasks.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment.


Other Information

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times where applicable.

  • Commitment to Health & Safety, company policies, and procedures.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
