Pay Rate: Up to £16.81 per hour
Positions Available: 3

Shift & Overtime

  • 15% shift allowance for early and afternoon shifts
  • Overtime available:
    • 50% uplift – Weekdays & Saturday
    • 100% uplift – Sunday

 

Contract Type

100% Temp to Perm opportunity.
Candidates may be offered a permanent contract immediately or after 3 months. A long-term contract option can be offered if preferred, although permanent employment is the ideal outcome.

The Role

As a Skilled Fitter within our Industrial Pumps and Mixer business, you will:

  • Assemble pump and mixer equipment in line with company procedures
  • Fit components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Work closely with colleagues during build and installation to ensure a smooth and efficient process
  • Conduct production tests in line with established procedures and complete accurate test reports
  • Ensure all components assembled are fit for purpose
  • Operate machinery, hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place
  • Operate equipment safely, producing products that conform to quality specifications
  • Record all work carried out for tracking and traceability purposes

 

Requirements

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)

 

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

 

Experience (Essential)

  • Mechanical fitting experience within industries such as valves, machinery building, compressors, etc.
  • Automotive-only experience will not be considered suitable

 

Experience (Desirable)

  • Experience with Progressive Cavity (PC) pumps
  • Experience with waste water product assemblies
  • Mechanical seal knowledge
  • Extensive experience with PC pumps and waste water products, ideally within a service background

 

Skills, Training & Specialist Knowledge (Essential)

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Manual Handling training
  • Slinging & Lifting training
  • HSE awareness

 

Desirable

  • Basic electrical experience
  • Motor wiring certification
